How we met:
We met at lawn bowls, ran by the Young Professional’s Society.
Wes and I had both moved back to Warrnambool fairly recently and were keen to meet some new people. One of my new work mates was playing a game of bowls with a group of boys, and asked me to join them. I was the only girl, but bravely gave it a go! Wes taught me how to play.
The proposal? how, what when:Wes proposed on top of the Pinnacle at Sunrise. In March 2016, we went to the Grampians to celebrate our birthdays. Whilst there, Wes told me how he’d always wanted to hike up to the pinnacle at sunrise. We got up bright and early and did just that! It was a difficult hike in the darkness, but when we got to the top Wes prepared a picnic breakfast. When the sun rose, Wes asked me to stand on the edge and close my eyes. When I opened them- he was on bended knee, holding a sign that said ‘Zoe, Will you marry me,’ made from scrabble pieces and my engagement ring…
Theme and colour palette:We had a rustic theme with the colours navy, cream, rustic brown and a touch of red. Red is my all-time favourite colour!
