How you met :
My sister Jacqui and her Partner Nick thought it would be a great idea to introduce me to Nicks work mate Jake.
They said we will organise a BBQ at home for a few people and invite the two of you around in a casual environment with a few other people so you can meet each other. Sounded like a great idea.
The day of the BBQ which was around the end of March 2011 we were pretty nervous about the BBQ that both of us had gone to the Pub with a friend to have a couple of drinks prior to the BBQ to ease a few nerves.
Little did we know that we both were at the same pub having a drink.
Meanwhile my cheeky sister actually had no intensions of inviting anyone else around for the BBQ apart from Jake and I. Lucky for us the conversation was easy and it was a late but very funny night. A few days later Jake phoned to see if I wanted to go on a date to the winery, that ended up being closed as he hadn't done his homework, so we went for a drive to the Grampians and out for dinner which was lovely.

The Proposal :
It was Boxing Day 2013, we had planned to spend the day together having a BBQ and go fishing on the Glenelg River as our “Christmas” because I worked Christmas Day and we didn't see each other.
The day turned into so much more than that.
It was an absolutely beautiful day on the water and we had been fishing for a few hours when Jake asked me to get a fishing Luer out of the tackle box.
I wondered why he asked me to get it as they all look the same to me. When I opened the tackle box there was this little present wrapped in Christmas Paper.
We had decided not to buy each other Christmas presents as we had just purchased our first home so I said “Jake you shouldn’t have got me a present because I didn't get you anything” feeling pretty bad at this stage.
